Gertar 2 in 1 Simulated Cat Toy With Green Mat and Blue Ball!

This Gertar 2 in 1 Simulated Cat Toy, with Green Mat and Blue Ball-was recommended to me, from an acquaintance of mine. Thanks for this recommendation, and we couldn’t wait to order it. So after we ordered it, than it finally came. We couldn’t wait to open up this new toy. We took it out of the package, and both cats, Kai and Pukini gave it a good sniff. We didn’t charge it right away. We followed the directions, and pressed on the ball first to see what it would do. There are two different modes to play with: According to online: Two Modes: Gertar cat tunnel toy, normal mode (toy starts to roll freely, and automatically shuts down after 5 minutes) & passive smart mode (press and hold for 3 seconds in normal mode to switch to smart mode), the toy automatically shuts off after 5 minutes, activates the toy when the cat touches it, allowing the cat to play anytime. We put it on both the area rug, carpet, and tiled floors. It spins, vibrates, and that’s what you want, but on the tiled floor, it got stuck on the grout areas of the floor, and than we had to move it, or kick it lightly with our foot. On the carpeted floor the ball, just spins and vibrates again, but didn’t move as well, on its own.

Once we put the green mat down on the tiled, or carpeted floors there is on the back of the mat, underneath is this sleeve like opening, or pouch to put the ball into. Once it is in that pouch area, we pressed it once until both the green and blue modes came on for playing. We than put the mat down on all floors of the area rug, carpet and tile, and the ball worked ok, but the ball moved a bit, but just spun and spun. The cats were intrigued and wanted to paw, sniff, and just stared at it as it spun on all the floors. Also, the mat and ball didn’t do very well on the tiled floor, and again just spun and spun. The cats liked the ball spinning, but didn’t do as well, because the ball kept getting stuck in the grout areas with or without the mat.

Finally, overall it is a cute idea, but I feel like it needs to go back to the drawing board, and the sleeve or pouch needs to be more grip like, or the ball needs to be able to have the cats grab it as well. It needs more openings or sleeve/ pouch openings, to put the ball into, and it needs to roll better on all surfaces of your house. Plus it needs to have a better way to interest your cat to not be bored, and keep your cats moving more. Our cats, Kai and Pukini just liked to lie down on the mat, and rest on it, but than would get bored and get up and leave, like saying, “Next Mommy”. We recommend you don’t order this toy, not worth the money, and thankfully it was almost fourteen dollars. Finally, it needed a way to have an apparatus to come and reach in and out of the matting to get the ball to go back and forth, or move around outside of the matting area around the mat. It needed more capability instead of just lighting up and spinning in one place and vibrating. Good luck!
