Crinkle Surprise!

What is the weekend for, than having some toy fun with our cats, Kai and Pukini. I knew right away the toy I wanted our cats to play with, these 1 pack of 3 crinkling bright colored ball toys. I got them out, but like I usually do, I give the boys a pinch of catnip or more. I put it on the floor, and rub the toys in the catnip, and the cats are rolling and rolling in it and can’t get enough. The balls already have cat nip in them.They grab the balls in their mouth, and start playing and batting the ball, and grab, bite, and claw at them with their paws. What fun enrichment and they love the toys, because it makes this crinkling sound, of a plastic bag, with catnip inside the ball. We have the bright pink, and green ball, and we have no idea what happened to the orange ball. Like cat toys, they get lost sometimes.

Tasty Feast That Can’t Be Beat!

Our cats Pukini and Kai know what time it is, when I get up to go to the kitchen. Pukini is telling me, Mommy come to the kitchen, I want to show you something. I hurry from the bedroom to the kitchen, and Pukini and Kai are crying as soon as I open up the fridge. Pukini is literally glued to our fridges door. Before I get the can of Fancy Feast out of our fridge, Pukini and Kai can’t wait to eat their tasty feast. It’s turkey, and giblets feast pate, and I give Pukini a small spoonful, and kai a pinch of food. So Pukini and Kai are reaching up with their paws to eat some of their tasty food, from the spoon I’m letting them off lick off after they ate their food. Also our cats love the pate, because it’s not chunky, and it’s more desirable for them to eat. We also give them chicken pate, and Amazon has a nice variety of flavors to check out, and various packs you can buy. The cats eat their dry food we give them, but we like to give both a variety of a treat of wet can food for a change.

According to amazon, it’s 100% complete and balanced nutrition for adult cats, and is a grain-free formula, and has the essential vitamins and minerals to help support their health. Dance Kitties Dance!

Cat Dancer Original Toy-Every time, I get this cat dancer toy out for our cats to play, I can see they're dancing for joy. I can see it in their eyes, and excitement of their legs jumping up and down, to reach up for this toy. Cat dancer, is this wired toy made out of spring steel, with attached paper twists are rolled cardboard at both ends of the wired apparatus. You can hold it up high in the air, or on the carpeted floor and the cats like to reach up with their paws and bat at it. They like to play with the wire, and it springs back and forth, and they like to touch and chew at the cardboard paper twists. The rolled paper tubes are on a 35” wire, and the website says it’s home-tested by over 8 million cats.

Will Work For Food!

Petstages Treat Dispensing Cat Toy- I also call these for our cats, Enrichment feeders. We have this product called, Outward brand enrichment feeder, but sadly they don’t sell it online anymore. So I tried to find something that was similar, and I did: Petstages Treat Dispensing Cat Toys, from online at Amazon. Our one cat, Kai eats his dry cat food, and his cat treats pretty fast. So we had an idea, we want to slow Kai’s eating down, and so we tried this treat enrichment feeder toy, and it was perfect.

On Sundays, once a week I give both cats their treats and I put them in their cat enrichment toy. Here is the goal to slow down his eating of treats, and hunt for his food, like cats would do as if they were in the wild, or outside. I get a kick out of it, because Kai loves it, and tries to take his paw and dig out the treats. He does pretty good actually, and he looks forward to it every Sunday. What I like is it has Kai slowing down eating his food, but it gets his brain a workout to figure out with his paw how to get his treats out. Finally you can put this product in your dishwasher, and it has food safe materials, and none of the following: BPA, PVC, phthalates, and lead.

Food For a Perfect Weight

What speaks yum yum in your cat’s tum tum, is a 7 lb bag of Chicken flavored Hill's® Science Diet® Perfect Weight Adult Dry Cat Food. Several months ago, I took our cats to their yearly checkups and Pukini’s weight and exam was good, but according to our vet, Kai was overweight. We researched, and felt that the smallest bag of 3 lbs, just wasn’t economical for us, whereas the 7 lb bag was perfect for us. The 15 lb bag was too big, and we didn’t want it to get stale. We realized that if we give a lower calorie food to Pukini, then we will have to supplement his calorie intake with a small spoonful of wet can food. Kai on the other hand, because of his higher weight, had this lower caloric food to eat, but I just gave him a pinch of the canned food. I will put this canned food on an upcoming post, stay tuned. Thank goodness, they liked the the lower calorie dry food, and they loved the canned food very much.

Just so you know, according to Hills Diet, 70% of cats lost weight within 10 weeks when fed this dry cat food. Besides long lasting feline weight support, and it has a nice variety of Roasted Vegetable, and Chicken Medley made with natural ingredients, and is veterinarian recommended. Give it a try. Cute Collapsible Cup!

Dexas Popware for Pets Collapsible KlipScoop- This cute collapsible cup has been the perfect scooper food cup, for our cats. It’s a measuring cup that you can buy with 4 different measuring sizes: 15 oz, 1/2 cup, 1 cup, and 2 cup capacity. We have found the 1 cup size works the best for ourselves for our cats, Kai and Pukini. What we love, is it’s perfect for portion control, and we needed this especially for our one cat, Kai. Pukini isn’t quite as heavy, and so we don’t have to be as concerned with his weight. We use this food scooper for a few reasons: A measuring scooper to measure out their food, and you can clip it on to like our cat food bag, until you’re ready to use it. Even though it’s a rubber made scooper, it has lasted for several years. Also, you can buy the scooper, and we have gray/blue and you can buy various other colors: Fuchsia, gray/pink, gray/purple, gray/pink, light gray, pro blue, and gray/green. Finally, what’s great is, it is dishwasher safe, yea! If you’re looking for a scooper, give it a try, you’ll be glad you did.

Eek! A Mouse!

Whisker City® Furry Mice Cat Toys - 4 Pack-As soon I opened up this 1-4 pack of toy mice, I couldn’t wait to throw the mice to our cats. For whatever reason, Kai and Pukini liked the white mouse. I threw the toy mouse to the boys, and they chased it and had fun playing with it. What I liked was, it’s a nice longer tailed and fluffier toy mouse. I love the beady eyes, fluffy white fur, black eyes, red nose, and pink ears. They couldn’t wait to bat and pounce on the mouse. When the cats came running, the mouse said, “Eek! Then the cats caught it and jumped and pounced on it. They have other colors in the pack besides white, there is grey, black and brown. Eek! Look out mice!

Hocus Pocus Cat Toys, Part 4!

Hocus Pocus Binx Crinkle Sack Cat Toy-One size-I couldn’t wait to review the last official Disney product, from the movie, Hocus Pocus 2! I took the product out of the sack, we bought from PetSmart. I unfolded the Hocus Pocus Binx Crinkle Sack Cat Toy, and it looked pretty small of a size for our cats and I had a bad feeling. I put it on our living room floor, and it had this cat sack with durable lining. It had this crinkle sound to it, and was a nice black color to match our one cat’s color, and perfect for Halloween: Black color. I had hoped one cat at least would go inside the bag, or something. The first thing they both did was sniff it, and lie down on top of the crinkle sack. I took a look first to see if I could coax the cats inside the sack with a cat treat, but it was so small inside. Neither cat went inside, and I was disappointed the crinkle sack wasn’t available in a larger, or extra large size. It was kind of a dud of a toy, unfortunately, but you don’t know when you review these toys, what your cats are going to like.

Finally, now saying that, I would advise you, to have your kitten(s), or very young cat(s), try out the cat sack, to go inside if they would like, or try it out to see what they would like to do. It’s a cute cat design, and the dimensions are: 14.5 in x 19.7 in. It was only available at PetSmart to buy, and not at amazon.com.

Hocus Pocus Cat Toys, Part 3!

Hocus Pocus Spell Casting Catnip Cat Toys-2 Pack-We couldn’t wait for more Hocus Pocus fun cat nip toys, with our cats. Since it says, it has cat nip in them I tossed the toys, and our cats just looked at the toys. I decided at this point, to put some Yeowww brand cat nip on the toys. They just sniffed at them, and then I put them near them, and they just grabbed at them but didn’t really play with them. You just don’t know, what reaction to each toy you are going to get, and some are winners and some are duds. Of the Hocus Pocus toys so far, these toys were not the most exciting or fun for our cats to play with. I think it was, that there were no feathers, or strings or anything you could dangle in front of them to play with.

Now saying this, buy them and try them out on your own cats, because your cats might like these toys, and every cat or cats are different. Give them a try. These are officially licensed Disney toys, with colorful eye and book designed cat nip toys. I loved the shapes and colors, and I thought they were cute, but our cats said they will pass and wait for the last Hocus Pocus toy to come this weekend to post next week. I was so disappointed, that I just put them in our PetSmart sack that we bought the toys in. Finally, they are odd shape, and don’t roll, and nothing there to have our cats get excited about.

Hocus Pocus Cat Toys, Part 2!

Hocus Pocus Trouble is Brewing Pop-Up Tent Cat Toy-Are you ready for some pop up tent hide n’seek? We couldn’t wait to show off this product, and we put it on the living room floor. I added a few treats, just to see what they would do. Kai just stuck his head in, but Pukini loved it. He went right into the Hocus Pocus Pop up tent and just laid down inside it, and relaxed. He looked happy and comfortable. We also thought to add something fun, let’s put both the other tunnel/chute toys inserted together from the lime green tunnel/chute together, with the Hocus Pocus Pop up tent. Pukini checked it out, and he ran from one end of the Hocus Pocus pop up tent, to the other end of the tunnel/chute. He waited a few times for Kai to pass by and then would stalk him like prey and would hide and then chase him out of the tunnel. It’s a great independent toy to see what they will do when your cat is not watching, and create their own way of having fun.

Next, this pop-up tent seemed just right for our smaller cat, Pukini but Kai would just stick his head in the holes of the tent, so he wouldn’t get stuck. He’s a bigger cat, and just be careful if you have a bigger heavier cat that wants to try to get inside the tent. Speaking of size, here is the dimensions of the pop-up tent: 15.75 in x 15.75 in x 15.75 in. Hocus Pocus Cat Toys, Part 1!

2 Pack- Officially licensed Disney Products of Hocus Pocus Magic Potion Catnip Cat Toys. September 30th, Friday was Hocus Pocus, and Hocus Pocus 2 movie night with some fun toys for our cats to play with. The next day, our cats are always looking for some new toys to play with, especially if they have catnip in them. I couldn’t wait to reach into our PetSmart sack, and pick our first set of 2 pk of toys to play with. I am like the cats, a big kid at heart who loves cat toys, just like our cats. I threw both the catnip filled cauldron with satin ribbons and potion bottle with chicken feather toys to the cats, and they ran and just sniffed at them. The toys didn’t seem very potent with the catnip they provided for the toys, and so I added a pinch of our own Yeowww catnip, on the toys. After several minutes, they smelled the aroma of the catnip, on the toys, and started batting them around, and biting at them. It was funny watching them play together, and on their own.  I liked the cute printed and colorful designs on them, so they stand out.

Next, we bought them at PetSmart for a special deal, and if you can’t get it at PetSmart, go to amazon.com and they also had them there. Also, it’s a special promotion, so hurry and buy them, so they all don’t run out. Hey what special month is associated with ghoulies, goblins, candy, and watching some scary, but funny movies together? It’s October, and we are ready for early Halloween fun! There are 2 special movies my husband and I want to see tonight? Hocus Pocus and Hocus Pocus 2! What is great is PetSMart has promotional cat toys from the movie, we bought for our cats to play with. Can’t wait to show them to you, and look for the toys being on our blog, next week for the first toy coming up!

Oh Chute, Part 3!

After posting the previous tunnel/chute blogs, we needed the last part, the tunnel extender. We decided to take the the smaller tunnel, and inserted the one end of the smaller tunnel, to the other end of the larger tunnel. As what has been described before, there are 2 different entrances to the tunnel, and a middle hole in the tunnel to check out. Besides toys, it’s like come and get the treats and smile for the camera. Hopefully if not one of the cats, but both will hopefully come through the tunnel. The good thing about extending the tunnel is it gives the cats, more fun to run through. Sometimes they just want to chill out and relax, and rest. Finally, this enrichment toy is a must for the cat/cats and your family to enjoy for many years.

Just one more thing to add: You can buy one or both of the tunnels, and connect them together. This way, so you don’t feel like you have to buy a 3rd long tunnel. I play these tunnel toys all the time with our cats, Kai and Pukini and they love it. Oh Chute, Part 2!

Youngever smaller chute/tunnel with assortment of 24 cat/kitten toys and more included. Like our previous post of another chute/tunnel we blogged about, we decided to get another tunnel for our cats to play with. This smaller lime green color of a tunnel was a perfect fit for our cat Pukini, even with his long bushy tail hanging out at the other end of the tunnel. There is two entrances to get in the tunnel, and the dimensions are: 11.54 x 10.94 x 2.76 inches. Besides the tunnel it has a nice assortment of toys, for a great price. Next, these other 2 cute toys are tied to the tunnel hanging down, and it’s fun watching the cats bat them around once in awhile. What I like is Pukini is a smaller cat, and he likes to go in and just chill and relax. Kai likes to peek his head in the tunnel to get treats, and chase Pukini around.

Finally, for your information, there is no batteries to install in this tunnel, and yea I was so happy about that. I did have to cut the ties off of the tunnel, because Kai wanted to eat the ties. What I liked was this tunnel was smaller in length, but lighter in weight to pick up. Keep an eye on your cats, so that no toy parts or anything breaks off. Oh Chute, Part 1!

Petlinks Twinkle Chute Electronic Light Up Rustling Activity Tunnel Cat Toy - Gray/Green, One Size- This chute/tunnel is a must for your cats. The tunnel has these dimensions:35 x 9.5 x 9.5 inches long. Also, it is straight with entrances on both sides of the tunnel, and at the the top of the tunnel, there is a hole in the middle, so that the cats can just jump in and sneak up on one another. It can be used for a variety of fun: Treat enrichment, playing hide n’ seek, games with their toys, toy storage, and more. I decided to use several Temptations Classic Crunchy and Soft Chicken Treats, and throw them in their tunnel to see what they would do. Both Kai and Pukini ran quickly through the tunnel, and they both ate all of the treats. It gives them the hunting instincts they need to go after their food. Kai especially likes the the middle hole of the tunnel, because he can get at the treats faster. When they go in the tunnel to chase one another, the tunnel makes this crinkling sound, of like say, moving prey. I’ll even put toys in the tunnel, which they both like, and it excites them. I love it when they both wiggle their butts, and go after one another in and out of the tunnel. It’s like my turn, my turn. Finally, I gather all of their toys, and put them inside the tunnel for a temporary storage, so I can vacuum the living room floor.

Last, just to let you know, a few things about this product: I had to cut the ties off of the tunnel, because Kai wanted to chew and eat them like they were food. When we bought this tunnel toy it came with batteries included, and would light up but after time, we couldn’t replace the batteries. You don’t need the batteries in this tunnel for it to work and be fun, because it still works. We did try, and if you do want to try to replace them after the tunnel lights die: You will need 2 LR44 batteries. When it was lit up, the tunnel got our cats attention to play, but it still does without having to be lit up. I highly recommend getting this product because it still works really good for treat enrichment, playing hide n’ seek, toy storage, games, and so much more. Wowzer Yowzer!

Yeowww Catnip Tub, 2-ounce-All I have to do is open up our kitchen cupboard door, and then shake the tub of Yeowww catnip, and the cats come running. Wowzer Yowzer they are ready for some catnip fun. I decided to take a pinch, or finger and thumbs worth amount of catnip and I proceeded to put it on both the carpet and area rug. As soon as Kai and Pukini try out the catnip, they both react to it, but in different ways. Pukini seems to get more of a high from it, and rolls and rolls on the floor, but gets mean when Kai wants to come over to get some of his catnip. The interesting thing is Kai likes it but, he acts like a mellower cat from getting a little high from the catnip. So maybe it doesn’t affect him like it does Pukini. But he does enjoy rubbing on the floor with the catnip scent. Watch when you give your cat or cats catnip, because you don’t know how they might react. For example, because they are already wild as kittens can be, I wouldn’t strongly advise given the catnip to them. We have two 5-1/2 year old cats, and they react strongly to it, and so watch your cat or cats, so they don’t hurt one another with how they react to the catnip.

Next, it’s made in the USA, and according to online it is potent with leaf and flower tops as well. No chemicals or pesticides, and when you get a chance put the catnip on your cats toys. You can order 2 different sizes of it: 2 ounces, or 4 ounces, and we have the 2 ounce size tub. Finally, use it as some enrichment fun, so it provides some joy to your cats. Chase The Rainbow!

Rainbow Cat Charmer- This is a bright multicolored wand like toy, that looks like the shape of a long, thin worm. As soon as I take it out of the cat’s toy box, I started twirling, and wiggling it around and around for the cats to chase it. I drag it on the floor this way and that way, and then I have it go wiggling up in the air, for the cats to reach up high for it. The cats don’t know whether to jump up in the air, or run in this direction, or in the other direction. I move it as fast as I can, to keep our cats guessing.

Sadly Kai chewed a piece of it off the ends, but thankfully he didn’t swallow, chew or eat the end piece of it, and we can still play with the toy. Just be careful to watch your cat, so no pieces of it get chewed off.

Catch The Birdie!

I get this birdie wand toy out, and the cats get really excited and ready to play. I take it out, and it’s a nice and bright fuchsia, and lime green color to get our cats attention. The birdie like feather toy, is out of his box, and I start flying it around, and the feathers move like a bird. I whirl it around, and around, and then I have it go lower. The cats get so excited, and I am dragging the bird all over the place, and the cats jump on chairs, or anywhere they can. They jump and pounce and grab the bird with their powerful claws, and bite on it like it’s a real bird, that they’ve hunted and killed. They run, and chase this bird in different directions, and it’s great for your cat for exercise, and they never get bored.

This birdie wand toy is fun, durable, long lasting and helps keep cats happy and healthy. What a great cat gift for a cat birthday! Theirs included: 2 pc cat wand+2pcs wiggle worms+5pcs feather teaser refills, with retractable cat wand, and is adjustable from 15 inches to 38 inches, with 20 inches string, and more. Our wand, wasn’t retractable at all, and was just a wand toy.

Super Pooper Scooper!

RSVP International Endurance Collection Stainless Steel Kitty Litter Scoop, 6.5x5x11.25”-Stainless steel super scooper to the rescue, and no more plastic scooper for us, to use. We couldn’t wait to use this stainless steel scooper to scoop the cats waste out of their litter box. The scooper is really nice for our large litter box, and it’s strong, and made of durable steel. Also, it was sturdy enough to take our large amount of kitty litter waste, out of the litter box, straight to their trash can. What I liked was how strong and big the handle was in my smaller hand to use to scoop it up, and put in our little trash can for the cats. So far so good, this scooper has lasted for 7 years so far and we really like it. When you clean it, use a sponge with soap and water, if you need to. Hide N’ Seek!

Who's ready for eating treats, and playing hide and seek to hunt for their cat treats today? Pukini and Kai are always ready for some fun hide and seek. I wanted to mention Temptations Chicken Flavored Cat Treats again on the blog, with a link, but with different photos this time. Recently I came up with some new places to hide their treats that I felt were different and original places to find them. For our cat Pukini, who is shorter in height, and has shorter legs, I used places he can easily jump up to reach them, or is more accessible to him, for example, my little rocking chair. I decided to try a different place, and I put the cat treat on the left arm of my little rocking chair, and he found it. He reached up on his hind legs, and grabbed the treat. I just heard a munch munch sound, and he was quite pleased with himself. On the other hand, Kai is taller, and has long legs, so I purposely take treats in our office, on the hutch, where our printer is. He saw it, and he got up on his tippy toes and took his long legs and took his paw and grabbed the treat. They both get so excited when I do the treat eating/hunting enrichment, because it is mental stimulating, and it’s good for their hunting instincts, and so they don’t get bored and more. The Wrangler Detangler

Untangler 7” Pearl White Cat Comb by Tangler-Wrangler-Instead of our posting of a toy this time, we wanted to put a useful practical item on the blog as well. This amazing comb has been the best comb we’ve had for our cats, Kai and Pukini for several years. What’s an amazing feature of it is for dematting, safely and uses this “rolling” of moving teeth preventing the cat hair from getting snagged around the pin, which prevents pulling on hair follicle causing pain. You can get various colors, of: Black, blue, red, and white, and it comes in 2 different sizes of 5” or 7”, and we have the 7" comb by the way. In the photo I will show you, Pukini has medium hair, which we try to brush him when he’s alert but resting. Pukini likes it, but he’s good at grooming thank goodness. When we brush him, he’s happy and is relaxed and loves it, and no pulling of his fur.
