Roll The Dice!

Another toy from Etsy from Christmas last year of 2024. When we opened it up to show our cats, Kai and Pukini they sniffed at it, and than it was time to check it out. I put several Temptations cat chicken treats in this enrichment toy, and I put them in the biggest opening that the treats would fit in. This enrichment/feeder toy is called BennieBow D20 Treat Dispenser For Cats, and what a cute name it is. It’s actually made and inspired by a female cat he met, named BennieBow. You had a choice of colors, and I think we picked the color green for the Christmas season. I am assuming the D20 is for Dice, and it has twenty sides to it? So I put it in my hand and rolled it our area rug in the living room, and also the tiled floor in our house. It came with a trio of triangle like sizes, from beginning to expert, but we didn’t use them, because our treats were large sized to fit in the toy. I rolled it on the area rug, and tiled floor and Kai had a good time of batting the enrichment toy all over, and on the video, he had a fun filled time, and batting it around and the reward were treats coming out of the BennieBow D20 Treat Dispenser For Cats. You can use dry cat food/treats of various sizes, and you have several colors to choose from, plus a glow in the dark one.

The nice thing, is Pukini is a slower eater, and but sadly he wasn’t interested in this BennieBow D20 Treat Dispenser For Cats, to play with, or eating a treat that came out of the dispenser. Kai on the other hand, is a fast eater, and tries to gobble up Pukini’s treats, and over eats at times at his food bowl. We wanted this toy, so it would slow Kai down with his snacking on treats, plus batting a toy around to get a treat can’t hurt, plus moving a bit for exercise. According to online: Fill the treat dispenser toy with dry food or treats. Can be used for fun with treats or as a daily feeder. It also, improves your cat's digestion by feeding several small portions. The opening is 0.78 inches large and can be adjusted to 0.62 inches or 0.51 inches and will fit the average-sized cat dry food or treat. Can’t beat the price of just close to ten dollars, what a deal.

Finally, if you’re interested in a small looking batting like feeder toy, this is the one for you, and enjoy with your other cat(s). Don’t wash this cat toy in a dishwasher. Wash only by hand. Have fun!

Finally today, I wanted to say thank you to Paula, and to our other followers who have enjoyed our posts on social media, plus the photos/videos throughout the years. I thought of a title called, Stand By Us, because it’s how I feel, of how far we’ve come since we started several years ago.

Stay tuned for more upcoming blog posts, featuring our cats, Kai and Pukini and I playing with our cat toys, accessories, and enrichments, and more. Thank you!

Just Hanging Around!

Peek A Boo, I see you! Can you find me? Do you remember playing the game Hide N’ Seek, but with your cats? We have. We bought this: K&H Pet Products Hangin' Cat Condo. It is a nice color of tan, and we bought the largest size-Five story condo and five levels of fun and according to online the dimensions are: 23 X 16 X 65 inches, and five sized peepholes to go in and out. There are three peephole areas, of top, middle, and the bottom in the front, and one peephole on the left side, and than the other peephole on the right side. We know our cats love to climb, but mostly Pukini. As usual we let them sniff it, and than it was time to hang up this K&H large sized cat condo. Dave looked at the instructions, and hooked it up to our guest bathroom door. Sadly there were no instructions or a manual to try to disassembly it down, so you could put the condo in the closet, storage room, or garage. Kai our bigger boy, needed a little bit of help from Daddy, but we put him in the lower level of the condo, with some added treats in the condo areas. Sadly, he jumped out of the lower bottom peephole of the condo. Kai is a bigger boy, and doesn’t like closed off places, or if it isn’t sturdy enough, he will not go or stay in place, and just jumped out. Pukini with help from some cat treats, Daddy coaxed him into the lower level of the cat condo. He’s a lighter boy, and wanted to check it out. Pukini checked out the top of the condo peephole, and said I am king of the world, as he looked out at of the peephole of the condo at the top. He even went in all of the peepholes of the condo, to check it out. He went even in the middle area, looking out of the peephole of the condo, and all of the other areas where the peepholes were in the condo. We were happy Pukini did go into the top of the condo, with the photos, but sadly no video’s to show.

This hanging cat condo is nice, and that you can hang it up on a door, and the condo areas seem kind of spacious, but pretty sturdy. It was fun with playing with the wand toys to try to lure Pukini up in the condo levels with peepholes to look out at. Our guest bathroom door was the only door this hanging cat condo would work on. It Is attached by three hooks at the top of the door, and two hooks at the bottom of the door. What we loved was, you could go right at the bottom, and than weave their way up to the top of the various condo areas. We give it a mixed review, because as for us, the only door that worked was the guest bathroom door, but the issue was if you had to go to the restroom, you had to use our master bathroom. So we left it up, as long as we could, but eventually took it down. We hooked it up twice and we hope to put it up again over and over. The really big negative is, is the price of it. Keep an eye on the price, because we got it half off, but now it’s gone up with a huge price increase. If we had seen this price online, we would have never have bought it for that high of price. The disagreement to us is, it couldn’t hook up to any other door, other than our bathroom door. Finally, even though, we gave it, and our cats gave it a mixed rating, your cats and you might like it, but look for a great, and better deal first. Good luck.

Cat vs. Gecko: Who Will Win?

Thanks Paula, a special follower of ours suggested trying this toy called: Hex Bots Wallcrawler Gecko, with Remote Control. So we were curious, and so my husband and I researched it a bit. It’s a pretty good size, or according to online: 11 inches (H) x 12.88 Inches (W) x 2.5 Inches (D), and it was a lime green body of legs and arms, and dark grey body. It came with two AAA batteries, one remote control and came with a short USB cable, and one instruction guide. After we charged it, for about thirty minutes, my husband and I inspected it, it was time for our cats, Kai and Pukini to give this strange looking gecko a sniff to check it out. If they could talk, they would have said, “Whoa, what’s this thing?” It is cool, and neat to see as it moved pretty fast when moving on our tiled floor, and our textured walls, plus the eyes were lit up and were RED color. What we loved was it said it crawls on your floors, but crawls up your walls, this we got to see. Dave had this Hex Bots Wallcrawler Gecko, with Remote Control, crawl on our tiled floor, and when ready, my hubby Dave, turned it over, he turned the gecko off, so both cats sniffed and bit at the legs, to make sure, and knew it was dead.

Next, we wanted to do, what its title of the toy said: Hex Bots Wallcrawler Gecko, with Remote Control, we wanted to see it crawling up our walls. So we had it go, left, right, up, and down, and when it came lower, here was Kai’s chance: Gecko moved, and Kai took his right paw five times, and punched at it in the air, like he was in the boxing ring. Than we had the Gecko move again, and Kai stepped back and took his left paw and punched it in the air, and Kai backed off to say, ok that’s it. He turned away, and gecko turned left and slipped on our tiled floor. We laughed and laughed, when we took the video of this, and can’t wait to show it next week on Facebook/Instagram. We took some photos as well, and I liked the photos. We loved it, of how Kai reacted, but gave it a mixed reaction, because when the gecko tried to climb the walls, it was hard to have it grip onto our textured walls. It would go up, midway of our wall, but than would fall down. Dave played with the gecko, and used the remote, while I busily took photos and videos. Just a warning the FAN inside the gecko is very LOUD, and it freaked out our cats. We also didn’t want it to go up to high, or fall down, and break in pieces, even if it’s made out of silicone. It had a slider switch on the gecko with 3 positions on it: Off, floor, and wall-ceiling. I didn’t notice what or what was on the remote, because I was taking the photos and video’s of the toy. As for size, It was sooo coool and our biggest toy that has been crawling on our walls that’s for sure, and it freaked our cats out because of the size, and It’s our biggest toy we’ve have ever had.

Overall, it was twenty-five dollars, and we feel like our cats, or Kai was interested, but it did freak them out, and so it was pricey. We just bought it this toy for our cats, but and we don’t have kids. If you have kids, and have cat(s) than give it a try. Just know, this toy is recommended for kids four years and up.

Gone Fishin’

Does your cat(s) like to play with water? Kai does but not Pukini so much. Kai sometimes likes to play with water in his water bowl. So we thought let’s get a pool toy with playing fish, so that Kai and Pukini can splash with their paws to check it out. This toy is called: Aiersa cat pool with swimming robotic fish toys, and I unfolded the pool, and it had two colored fish it came with. The both of them just stepped inside the pool, and than proceeded to sit down in the pool, without the water in the pool. It’s like this if I fits, I sits as both cats said to me, ha ha. We even have photos of it.

First thing we did, was get a bowl from our kitchen and fill with lukewarm, or cool water and poured, four to six cups of water in the pool approximately. Once the pool had enough water, it was time to put both fish in the water. As soon as they touch the water, both pink and blue fish starting swimming, and were lit up moving their tails back and forth as they were moving. Mostly Pukini took his paw and pawed at the pink fish and watched it move all over the pool. The pink fish was my fave, and swam good, but sadly the blue fish sank to the bottom. On the other hand, the blue fish, swam around, is lit up and moved until it filled up with water, and than sunk to the bottom of the pool. Dave said the fish didn’t or wasn’t sealed properly, and said the batteries were wet. So he took a screw driver and took the batteries out. So each time, we just put the pink fish in, not the blue one, and the first time they were interested, and started pawing at both the pink and blue fish, and than we took the blue fish out. The second time, they barely played, but wanted to watch and just drink the water, and how funny. It was like their big water bowl with fish in the pool. They are in stock at this link, and give them a try, the Aiersa brand.

Here is the link.

So after Dave and I took the blue fish out of the pool from sinking, I started looking for bright fish, for cat(s)with LED lights, and I found them, they are a brand name of Lavizo. They were nice and colorful, and there are six fishes, and so I recently checked the link, and this was the message, they are currently unavailable, and don’t know if or when they will be in stock. I’ll keep checking on the link, to see what happens. Oh no, I thought, I will just have people who are interested, just look up bright lit up fish, that move when they are submerged in water. One thing I didn’t read was, place two fish at a time, three-five minutes at a time, and recommended a ten minute playing time. I will have to try that, because I didn’t do what they suggested. Also, take out the batteries and dry the fish after your done. What was nice, they had some extra 12 LR44 batteries to put into the fish, and there were already batteries in the ones I ordered. A battery installation tool is also included. They moved ok, but the cats were not interested, and again, the second and third time, wanted to drink the water out of the pool. Even if our cat(s), weren’t that interested, except the first time, than google and see what bright fish with LED lights work for you. Keep fishin'.

Neater Feeder Deluxe!

First, up since having our cats, Kai and Pukini for eight years now, we were looking for an accessory that was a cleaner, and neater alternative to having a food and water bowl sit on our carpeted floor. I had researched over time, and the last several years, I found what my husband Dave and I, and our two cats were looking for, It’s called: Neater Feeder Deluxe. This Neater Feeder Deluxe has been the best accessory for our two cats. According to online it says: Mess proof, spill proof, and kick proof. Spilled food is separated and contained on top, while spilled water drains into the bottom basin to keep your cat's eating area and your floors and walls neat and clean. What we liked were the water bowl measured according to online: 14” L x 9” W x 7.5” H , with a one cup shallow bowl for cat food, and a cup and a half extra bowl for water. When we ordered our Neater Feeder Deluxe for our cats, Kai and Pukini, there are leg extensions sold separately, but we didn’t order ours. Our cats are fine without the leg extensions, even though we have a different variety of two male cats, Kai is taller, and has longer legs, whereas Pukini is shorter height, and has shorter legs. They both don’t seem to mind, and it works out not ordering or putting on these leg extensions. Kai loves to play with ice cubes in his water that I put in there, and we can hear him at day and night sometimes playing with his water with his paws, once in a while. On the other hand, Pukini loves to put his toys, of say a ball(s) in his toys,in his water, or food bowl, and he must of got tired of playing. But they do enjoy the Neater Feeder for what it is intended for.

Next, you can put all parts of the Neater Feeder stand, stainless steel cat dish set, are be used on the top-rack of the dishwasher safe. Another important piece of info: Cat bowl stand, is made in the USA, where as food and water are made in India, and are according to online: BPA-free and lead-free. The Neater Feeder pet food bowls are patented, with additional patents pending. After all of these years, it’s still in great shape, and I dump out the water in the bottom of it, so it stays dry and clean. I love to take photos and or video’s, and can’t wait to see what I find the next day in the cat food bowl, or water bowl. What I forgot to mention again and I thought it was cute was this: After playing or when he’s tired Pukini takes both his front legs and leans onto the edge of the feeder like he’s at a bar getting a drink. If your cat(s) are like ours, if you are looking for a better way for them to eat and drink, without all of the mess and food on the floor and around, than get this Neater Feeder. You’ll be glad you did.

Jackson Galaxy Clamshell Cat Bed!

Thank you Jackson Galaxy for this four in one clamshell cat bed/pillow, and our cats love how comfortable, it is to sit/lay down for a late afternoon/evening nap. My husband, Dave and I have been looking for a nice pillow/bed for quite some time, that both cats, Kai and Pukini would enjoy. After taking the product out of its package, it was time to check this out. When we tried to set it up, Dave had cinched up the bed a little to much, and both cats didn’t want to go in, and than Dave uncinched it more, and than Pukini eventually went into it, and Kai went in and out of it. We have one photo where both cats, Kai and Pukini were actually in the bed together, and Pukini eventually got more comfortable, and sat down. Eventually, Pukini took over, and this is his bed. We did try to change it on the inside of bed/pillow to a dark green color inside, and light color on the outside, and just Pukini went in and layed down inside it, not Kai this time. We took a video and photo of this and more you will see the next week, and can’t wait to have our audience see it.

After some time, mostly Pukini kept trying to come in and sit down, and eventually he did feel more comfortable and sat and layed down. Pukini even liked it all laid out flat, as a pillow/bed and we just had it on the lighter color, flat. Kai even liked it as well, and we got photos of both cats, enjoying it. It’s so nice and they were lounging, and lying down on it all stretched out flat, on area rug. What a nice place to nap, and have a long rest, and Kai knows to leave Pukini alone, because this is his time.

I highly recommend this cat bed, and try this out for your cat(s) as well, and it was expensive of forty dollars, but it had so many things going for it, like: According to online: Nice quality plush inside, reversible and versatile, and it had a built in pocket, to protect, and secure the cinching rope, cinching in colder weather, for added comfort and security. Nice thing is it says, lay flat in the warmer weather, and you get more room to lounge. Loved the dimensions:35.4"L x 35.4"W x 3.9”, and the perfect fit cinched and uncinched for our cats, Kai and Pukini. Just be sure to wash cold water, and fluff to reshape to air day. If your looking for a nice and comfy, and quality durable bed/pillow, give this Jackson Galaxy Clamshell Cat Bed a try and see what your cat(s) think about it.
