Look Out For The Flying Squirrel!

Watch out, here comes The Ecstatic Cat Sheepskin Flying Squirrel Toy with a floofy pink tail and leather rope attached! Yep you heard this toy right. It is a unique toy, and we got this for Christmas for our two cats, Kai and Pukini. Even though it had catnip stuffed in the toy, I had already put catnip on the area rug to get the cats ready for some toy fun. It’s like a two toys in one kind of enrichment toy, one for having your cat, chase the leather rope up high in the air, and/or from all directions. It was fun watching the both of them chase, bite and grab at the leather rope, while throwing up the white and pink floofy part of the squirrel toy, which is the second part of the toy. It was fun to watch the cats, run, grab, jump, pounce and paw at the floofy squirrel and not let go. They loved the furry, and pink fluffy part of the toy, but when chased down they loved to kick at the toy to say, your not getting away from my grip, I caught you. They would take their back paws, and quickly start kicking at it pretty fast. How cute I thought. They loved it. I played with the toy for fifteen-twenty minutes with our cats, and can’t wait to bring the toy out each time we play. I would even throw the pink floofy part on Kai, and he would try to get it off.

Overall, thank you to Jessie Turney from The Ecstatic Cat, for making this cute and a fun exciting toy. According to her website, you can get the herbs, a rattle, but no wand for us. You have your choice if you want or don’t want the herbs, rattle, and the wand. According to her description of the toy, it is made with real sheepskin with a floofy tail, lightly stuffed with wool and USA-grown organic catnip/silvervine mix, optional rattle.

As far as the size is concerned, according to online: Body size is approximately 3" x 2". Fur length varies and adds extra size.  For extra kicky fun a floofy tail is sewn into the bottom. A  three foot long leather lace is sewn in so you can make it scurry about the house.

Overall, it was a toy we’ve never have seen before and it’s good to be on the lookout, for new and unique toys. Look out for that flying squirrel landing in your home soon.

Moody Pet Fling-AMA-String Cat Toy!

For Christmas of 2023, we had this different kind of toy, from brand name: Moody Pet Fling-AMA-String Cat Toy. It was a fun, and unlike any toy we’ve ever had and bought before. We buy our toys year around and than put them away so our cats don’t try to find them. So in July of 2023, my husband Dave bought something fun, and unique, that looked fun to play with. So we took this product out of its box at Christmas time, and read the instructions of what to do. What we liked was no assembly required, and that was a great thing we were thinking. One side of a long string is sewn to a flat elastic conveyer belt that is constantly rotating. The string flings in and out for a kitty's amusement.

Batteries are not included. According to the box of instructions, this toy will need three double AA batteries, and than we put them inside the back compartment. We than were ready to play this toy with our cats. First, hang this S shaped hook to the knob on the front of any standard door. Than, pull the black elastic belt, at the bottom of the toy, under the door. Pull one of the loops around the back door knob. Choose the tightest loop to best secure the toy. I have been for now just putting it on the loosest loop for now. To prevent your cat from, pulling or pushing door, keep it closed. Turn on the toy by sliding to the left for speed one, or slow speed, or speed two, or turn to the right for the fastest speed, or cat’s preference. Your cat will try to catch the string from time to time by biting, clawing or pawing. When kitty lets go, the string will immediately start to rotate again.

We were ready to play, and Pukini was curious, but didn’t play with it as much, but Kai loved it. He watched with curiosity, than would paw, grab, and bite at the string. Kai had a great time, but Pukini liked to watch his buddy play with it. It is a great time of paw and eye coordination, which your pet needs to keep them active. From kittens, to lazier cats, to our big boys will love this toy like ours did. I love the fact that they would wait and anticipate when to look for that Fling-AMA-String Cat Toy to come out at the bottom and try to catch it. Sometimes they would just stare at it and watch it go in and than come back out. I loved When Kai was tired, and would lie on his side to try to catch the string.

Just to let you know, when we took the Moody Pet Fling-AMA-String Cat Toy out of the box, everything looked good except one thing. The black band half way down was torn in half, and I thought that isn’t right. So online it says, Troubleshooting; Moody Pet offers FREE-replacement parts for the life of your toy. So recently I e-mailed Michelle from Moody Pet, and I told her about our black band being half torn, and she said no problem. Just give me your address, and I will mail out a new black band free of charge. She was really quick about getting back to me from my e-mail to her. I am just waiting on her to send it to me, can’t wait. But when I get the replaced back band, they at least stuck to what they say online. Have a fun, and fling string of a time with your cat(s).

Plaid Tunnel Bed!

This was our first Christmas toy for our cats, of 2024 we decided to review. I call this the multi cat toy: Kitty City Plaid Tunnel Bed, and it’s perfect for our two cats, Kai and Pukini. It is a tunnel of fun of a toy, enrichment, exercise, snoozing, resting, hiding, and waiting to pounce on one another kind of fun. It came in two parts, and of course you can have just as much fun with one half of the tunnel, for our cat Pukini to explore, but we wanted to zip this tunnel bed together, so the cats would have a longer and circular tunnel, with a cozy looking bed to check out. Kai doesn’t like tunnels much, but if I throw a snack, or two into the entryways, he will stick his head and front part of his body in so he can get the treats. Also Kai doesn’t like tight, and claustrophobic places of entry to go in and out of. Awe it was nice and soft the bed pillow in the middle of the bed. I even went and sat down on the white pillow in the middle, and Kai came over to say, “Who took my pillow?” Pukini loved it more, and loves the enrichment toy better. Neither one has laid or sat down on the pillow, except for me. I like the two entryways, so that you can go In and out each way, and that makes it so much fun.

The most tricky or stubborn part was zippering up both half pieces of the cat tunnel bed, and it took awhile to zip it up. I let my husband try it, and I didn’t want to break the zipper part, and ruin the bed. Both beds zipper up different ways for each piece of it. After zipping the tunnel bed together, it was time to have Pukini check it out. Before I could get a photo or video, Pukini had a good run through the tunnel several times. There were several styles and colors to choose from and Dave picked the plaid pattern, and colored red and navy blue. I love these colors, and when Pukini goes inside of it, it’s hard to see him, because of not being so transparent as a color on the outside of it. When the room was lighter in the back room, when Pukini was in our guest bedroom, when he went inside the Plaid Tunnel Bed tunnel, you could see the outline of the tunnel bed from the inside.

Finally, at both entryways, it has a toy at each entryway for the cat(s) to bat at, and can be used for cats of all ages, plus the bed is easy to pick up and transport from room to room. It was a price of forty-three dollars, but it does so much for the price, and so much fun to watch your cat(s) explore to check it out. According to online the dimensions are:39” W x 39” D x 12.5” H, plus it’s nice and collapses down for you to travel with it. The cats had a great time, and have your cats check it out, for a great exploring time with the family and yourself.
