Catnip Alternative Chew Sticks!

Meowy Janes Twenty Count Mini Matatabi Cat Chew Sticks - An All Natural Silvervine Cat Toy and Treat - Catnip Alternative-This was another let’s just say enrichment toy, for Christmas time for our cats to play with. At first I let our cats, Kai and Pukini just sniff the bag of the Matatabi Cat Chew Sticks. They sniffed at the bag, and seemed interested. I opened the bag, and took a few sticks out of the package, and they chewed on a stick or two, of it. It was good thing they liked to chew on it a bit, because the write up says these sticks act as a natural toothbrush for your cats. I have put the sticks back in their pouch when done, and I do use these sticks repeatedly, to see if they notice any scent left, or chewable flavor to it. I put the sticks under their noses and they just sniffed at it and that was that. I used the Matatabi chew sticks as enrichment on their Petstages-Grass Patch Hunting Box, and on our tile floors, and area rug. I loved to watch them go and chase and bat at these sticks, which was cute. When the chew sticks were on his Petstages Grass Patch Hunting Box, Pukini and or Kai did try to paw or bat at them, and pick them up with his mouth, which was to adorable.

Just to let you know, according to their website: The chew sticks are vines that are squishy, and don’t splinter like wood. What is nice is there is no additives, and it’s processed in the USA. Also according to their website, nearly 80% react to Silvervine(the plant these vines are from) and that cats have a stronger and longer lasting reaction than to catnip. My feeling though were this: Our cats liked their catnip better, and we get a more reaction to it, but it’s always nice to try other alternatives. Just like catnip, most cats LOVE Matatabi chew sticks, but there is a small percentage of cats who don't react.

Sneaky Slithering Snake!

Here was another cat toy, called the Smart Sensing Snake Toy that we bought and couldn’t wait to play with it at Christmas time and afterwards. We took a photo on Christmas Day 2022, of our cats, Kai and Pukini. They couldn’t wait to come up on the couch to check out their new selection of cat toys to play with. They get just as excited as we do, for this special time of year.

For the first time, we were ready to get the snake toy out of its box and ready to have the cat’s, and us review this cat toy. Dave took it out of its box, and put three parts of the snake toy together. Before that we charged the snake toy, to be ready for playing with our cats. The snake came with a USB charging cable, but no charger. When ready, we turned on the switch on the left side of the snake to have it move, once we put it on our carpet, and tiled floors, it worked great. The issue was, the snake sometimes had a hard time going over area rugs, and our welcome mat in front of our door. The cord cover protectors on the carpet, is when it got stuck I would pick the snake up and bring it over to the cats to try again.

Lately, I did something different, when it got stuck, instead of picking it up, I put my hand in front of the snake, and it would go backwards. Also, when it pauses the cats were intrigued, and didn’t run away. and they looked at this interesting yet, creepy crawling thing, with its movable red tongue, and red eyes. I liked the way the snake moved realistically, like in a moveable S shape, and it would move, and than it would go backwards which was so neat to see. Recently, the snake toy got close to Kai, and he quickly tapped it with his paw to say, “Stay away this is my mat, and leave me alone.” Unfortunately I did not get a photo of that, because it was so quick and I didn’t get a photo. You never know what photos or videos of any toys we review on this blog you will get. Lastly, after it moves, it gets tired after 2 minutes, and so it goes to sleep, and then you tap its head to have it wake up. Kai and Pukini would go near it and watch and watch it, as it keep slithering away. They didn’t get scared though.

So many things I liked were, it had wheels on the bottom of the snake for better maneuver ability, the color of red was nice and bright, and moved quickly once it is all charged up. Next when it moved the tongue moved in out and several time from its mouth, as it moves on the floors. Finally, the snake looked so realistic to the eyes to the head, mouth, to the tail and it looked realistically looking like a snake. So you know, it is for kids six years old plus, and be careful if any parts fall off, or come undone. Have a SSSSSS slithering snake fun time with your cat(s) with this toy.

You Dirty Rat!

After I posted the Cat Catcher the mouse last week, now it the Da Rat’s turn to come out and play. The mouse was already on a wand, but not the rat. So I took off one of the old Da Bee toys off their wand and we put the rat on that wand. The cats and I couldn’t wait to play with this cute little rat. It was a brown color of a rat, and was nice and small. Thank goodness compared to the mouse, the rat didn’t shed, and have pieces of rats fur come off of it. The rat has a 2-3 inch dark black or brown tail, plus dark colored eyes, and ears. This was part of the Cat Catcher Combo-Cat Catcher Wand Mouse, plus this week’s new Da Rat Accessory, for the blog this week. When the rat was on its wand, I took the Da Rat and started flying it all over and above the cats, Kai and Pukini’s heads. I was having the Da Rat, move and jump and move sideways, in all directions. I would tease them with just dropping the rat down hard on the grass, or living room carpet, to try to have them catch that rat. I even tried to dangle it right above them or near them to see them bat and catch the mouse, with their powerful paws, and grab it and chew at it with their strong teeth. Once they caught it, it was hard to have them let loose of this, no pun intended, You Dirty Rat.

Next the cats really love to chase all of the pests on a wire, and it’s great exercise to hunt for the rats, and more. It gives them them the feeling that they caught an actual rat. Just to let you know, to inspect these toys, so no eyes, ears, or tears or rips, or fraying of the wand are damaged, and remove the product and get a replacement for the cats safety. If you need your cats to catch a mouse for you in your mouse, you will not be disappointed with this toy. Enjoy.

Cat, Catch Me If You Can!

Cat Catcher the mouse from the maker of Da Bird, is this realistic looking toy on a wired wand. It is loads of fun and the cats enjoyed it every minute. If it’s a bee, bird, rat, or anything on a wired wand, our cats will always get excited about that toy. It’s so much fun to see the joy of enthusiasm in their eyes when we get a new toy out to play with. As soon as I took it out of the package, I started flying the mouse all around the cats heads from above and in different directions, and swaying it side to side. It is a black and white color of a mouse, but what we liked was it had an approximately three inch tail at the end of the mouse dangling down to tease them mercilessly. I loved how they would leap up in the air to grab the tail, and bite at it, but loved bringing it closer so when I took the photo you could see the mouse and tail close up. I played and played for about twenty minutes approx, with both cats grabbing, biting and pawing at it relentlessly, until they were worn out. Since the foie grass slab was on the floor, it’s just so much fun to have the mouse scamper across the grass, to have them chase and grab it. We’ve had now a mouse, on the lawn, birds, bees, lizards and more, so our cats said we need a pest control company to come over our house to get rid of these pests if they can’t, ha ha.

t’s a pretty good deal for your money at eighteen dollars, because it came as a combo, with the Cat Catcher mouse, plus the Da Rat accessory. This week I will put the photos of the Cat Catcher the mouse first, and than video of it the following weeks, and than the Da Rat, will be on afterwards with photos and video of the Da Rat coming up as well. I did notice after several weekends playing with it, the mouse started shedding and pieces of it from the bottom fell off, but after I removed the parts of the fur off, it was still a toy you could play with. Finally, this is a fantastic toy to interact with your kitty for play and exercise. The attachments are intended for interactive play only. Please inspect the wand and attachments often for rips, tears or signs of damage and remove, if damaged or if parts become separated, as injury may result. No toy is indestructible, and so keep an eye that parts of the mouse don’t fall apart, and the tail gets chewed off, and more. Enjoy being entertained with this mouse in your house for ongoing hours of fun.
